Archetype’s are patterns the reappear in literature. Patterns such as A Fall, Good vs. Evil, and even unhealable wounds. A Fall is when the main character is coming from a high point to a low point. Good vs. Evil is when a good force or object is against a bad force or object. Lastly a unhealable wound is a wound left by someone or something on the character that shows his weakness or a battle scar left by his enemy. All of these archetypes can be found in Julius Caesar and what we read and watch today.

Salem Witch Trails
The Salem Witch Trials of 1692 and 1693 were a series of trails on women who were accused of witchcraft.These trials began in February of 1962. Consequently, women were hung, or drowned. Some would get trails and some would be hung immediately. For example, this one man was crushed with rocks because he would not confess what he was doing with witchcraft. There were more than 200 people accused of witchcraft. Only 20 were executed and 5 died in jail.
These trials began when Reverend Samuel Paris daughter, Betty, got sick. The doctor examined her and found no medical reason as to why she would be sick like that.This being the case, they thought it was witchcraft. On the other had she was showing symptoms of other things such as: stress, asthma, guilt, boredom, child abuse, epilepsy, and delusional psychosis (not being able to tell the difference between real and imagined).
Meanwhile, in England, this was viewed as a felon and was punishable by hanging to death. With England being a religious country, it was also known as consorting with the devil.
Father-Son Relationships
This pass week in my English class, we read a story called “The teacher who changed my life”. It was about a boy who had escaped from Greece during the night and had move the the United States. When he first got there he didn’t have a great relationship with his father. This make me think of how a father son relationship would be. So I got to thinking asking questions like “What type of relationships do father sons have?, How many children’s have father’s in his life?, and Are the sons relationships better with the mother or father?” I found some very intriguing information.
I found this website called psychologytoday and found the following information. The more generations of boys we have the less a father passes on to his son. So as generations go on the bond between fathers and sons lesses. So fathers are becoming more distant from their sons.Then I continued my research on to my second question and found some very sad statistics on fatherhood.org. 24 million children, 1 out of 3, live without their biological father. So all theses children that leave with out a father. The chart below are more facts that can be found on the website about children who live without their father. So i finally searched my last question and got the answer on mom.me. When a child is born the first year of its life it is attached ti mom because of development. For example when a child is born it does skin to skin contact. Usually this is done by the mom so the bonding is done with the mom and its not a close to the father as it is with the mother. Also the father goes back to work while the mom is at home with the baby for 6 weeks. So all this bonding with the mother occurs.But as the child gets a year old they begin to become mobile. So during this time the father begins to rough house with the boy so this bond becomes closer to the boy during this time.
Homesick
Everyday here made me sick mentally, physically, and anyway possible. Constant yelling, cussing, and fussing. I’ve heard it all from the one that birthed me. The so-called “Protector” of my life, until I could take care of myself. Which came earlier than what I thought it would. As a child there was constant whooping’s for the things she told my stepdad I did she lied on me. All I knew was mamma was right and not to call her a liar. That what every kid knew at the age of 5,6,7 and 8 all the way up till you could speak up for themselves at the age of 12. That’s the age I knew.
Only my 3 younger siblings and me really knew who she was in these 4 tight walls. She called us things no child she be called, said things to us no child should hear. Abuse was an everyday thing rather mentally and/or physically. For me it was both. Constantly throwing things at us, yelling because she can’t have her way. Being hit and slapped was normal we expected it just about every time she walked passed us.
We tried DHR but that made it worse. They thought we were teenagers and kids who just wanted their way and over run their mother. All this went on for years until the year of 2016. That was the year of glory for all of us. My brother and sisters had been telling their dad about all the things she was doing and how I had to do her job. All the cooking, cleaning, and getting them up, washing clothes sometimes hers were all put on me. On top of this there was school and homework. Their dad became mad and decided to get his kids. I knew this but she didn’t. The day came. November 4,2016. She came and told me and my sister they wont be coming home. I had already knew but she didn’t know I knew.
I wondered how they felt when they finally got there freedom. I was waiting on my but it came sooner than I thought it would be. I got mines the exact next day. November 5,2016. I was happy so I cried. It’s sad to think that a mother would give her kids up. But after all she knew it wouldn’t be long anyway.
Teenage Brains
Today I read about how “The teen brain isn’t broken.” I read about this on Commonlit.org. This website is great learning tool because it has you answer questions about what you have read. This can help you learn about reciting information if this is not a good skill for you. It is different from other things I have read but in someways the same. I use this other website called Blackboard for my other classes. On this website I can go to my classes and see if they have an assignment for me to do and look on the calendar to see any upcoming events.
On Commonlit.org I can see assignments for my class but it does not have a calendar for me to see upcoming events. Both of theses websites are very different but the same. Commonlit.org has you read and answer questions. But when reading nonfiction its based on facts unlike fiction which is basically make belief. So by reading on Commonlit.org you’ll learn how to restate facts, and even be able to answer questions about fiction books.
Hypothermia
I chose the topic hypothermia; I chose this topic because this is what eventually happens to the man in the story to build a fire, resulting in his and his dog’s death. I ask myself three questions: 1.What is hypothermia?, 2.What happens to the body? during hypothermia, and 3. How do you get rid of hypothermia? I found the answers to my questions on websites that were based on basic opinions of doctors and researchers. So this way I know the websites are true and correct.
I learn many new things about hypothermia such as you body begins to slow down resulting in slow movement and poor coordination. Some people even get confused, dizzy or have slurred speech. And if it is severe you respiration and heat rate slows down. This reminds me of an episode of Paw Patrol that I was watching with my sister. An animal got stuck in the snow and was very cold so when the pups and the animals got him out they had to give him food and cover him up.
While researching this I also wanted to research hyperthermia, which is the opposite of hypothermia. I would research this to see how different they are from each other although they both have something to do with body temperature. Have you every thought about what this would feel like, if this were you in his position or even the dog’s position?
